Volunteer Opportunities
MFAF needs committed individuals to:
Please contact us if you are interested in any of these ways of volunteering. Please also see our flyers for more information.
- Distribute food, clothing, and blankets at our Monday clinics each August through October
- Interpret at our medical clinics
- Donate the following items or plan a collection drive at your organization or school and assemble:
- Hygiene kits in zip-lock gallon bags: bar soap, shampoo (full size, not sample size), toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, comb or brush, small towel, skin lotion, disposable razor, etc. to hand out to recently arrived migrants at outreach in housing camps.
- Skin/Eye protection kits for apple pickers: sunscreen, men's sunglasses, bug repellent, band aids, baseball and/or sun hats, bandanas, Natural Tears eye drops.
- Food sacks: Pinto beans (dried, not canned); white rice (regular, not instant) in 1 or 2 pound bags; cereal (any kind, not heavily sugared); pasta (any kind); and canned vegetables (any kind).
- Books: Spanish-language children's books, board books, Spanish-English dictionaries.
- Bags: reusable grocery bags and/or brown paper sacks.
- Diapers size 4,5, and 6
- Aluminum pop tabs for youth group recycling project.
